Is It ADHD, Autism or Both?
Most people come to us with one of a few questions. Is it ADHD? Is it autism? Or is it both? The two often show up together and the signs can overlap, so a good evaluation looks at the whole picture.
Our testing is directed by psychologists and happens in person at our North Austin office. Pick the evaluation that fits your questions below, or book a consultation and we will help you decide.

Who Can Get A Psychological Assessment
We offer psychological testing for children ages 7 and up, teens and adults.
Current assessment batteries cover multiple areas of neurodivergence including, but not limited to:
- ADHD
- Autism
- ADHD and autism together
- Executive functioning
- Learning differences
- Giftedness
Which Evaluation Fits Your Questions?
Start with the page that matches what you are wondering about. If you are not sure, that is what the consultation is for.
ADHD Testing
For kids, teens and adults with ongoing trouble with attention, focus, impulsivity or executive functioning at school, work or home.
Autism Testing
For kids whose parents or teachers have noticed social, communication or sensory differences, and for adults who are questioning their past experiences.
ADHD and Autism Together
ADHD and autism often show up together, and one can hide the other. Our batteries can look at both in a single evaluation, along with executive functioning, learning differences and giftedness when those questions come up. Bring it up at your consultation and we will plan the right measures.
What To Expect During A Psychological Assessment
All psychological evaluation and assessments will include:

- A clinical interview of the patient and others with pertinent information about the patient’s history and functioning
- A customized set of instruments required to address the specific referral questions
- A measure of cognitive functioning
- A full psychological assessment report with an overview of testing data and recommendations
- Feedback sessions with individuals and/or families with the opportunity to discuss next steps and to answer any remaining questions about the assessment process, results, and diagnoses (if any)
All assessments follow evidence-based standards established by the American Psychological Association’s Guidelines for Psychological Assessment and Evaluation, ensuring your results are clinically valid and actionable.

Psychologists Who Direct Our Testing
Psychological Assessment Cost
The cost depends on your situation and the questions we are answering. Every evaluation starts with a $200 consultation, where we decide whether testing is right for you and plan the measures.
The assessment battery normally takes 15 to 20 hours, not counting the intake and feedback sessions, which run 60 to 90 minutes each at the same hourly rate. You get the full cost after your consultation.
Payment plans and sliding scale are available, and CareCredit offers 0% interest options for six or twelve months.

FAQs About Our Assessments
What are some reasons I need a psychological assessment?
Specific reasons people seek out assessment include:
- Improving access to accommodations in work, school, and for standardized testing.
- Recommendations for families and schools to address behavioral/emotional needs.
- Aid in documenting disabilities, potentially qualifying for support and services.
- Increased understanding and guidance for teachers, professors, and employers on our particular strengths and needs.
- Self discovery and guidance; determining modalities and structures that can help us reach our full potential.
Do one or more of those statements feel familiar? Book a consultation to find out if a psychological assessment is right for you.
Should I get tested for ADHD, autism or both?
Many people come in wondering about both. ADHD and autism often show up together, and the signs can look alike. At your consultation, we talk through your questions and decide whether one evaluation should cover both.
What ages do you test?
We test children ages 7 and up, teens and adults.
Who does the testing?
Our testing is directed by psychologists. Scott Allen, PsyD, our Director of Neurodiversity Services, conducts our ADHD and autism evaluations.
Where does testing happen?
All testing is done in person at our North Austin office on Spicewood Springs Road, usually on Tuesdays.
What do I get at the end?
A plain-language report you can read in draft before your feedback session, a feedback session to go over results and any diagnosis, and specific recommendations, including formal accommodations for school or work when they fit.
How much does psychological testing cost?
It depends on the questions being answered and how many measures are needed. We give you a written estimate after a brief consultation, and testing can be financed through CareCredit with 0% interest options for six or twelve months.
How long until I get results?
Most evaluations take two to four weeks from the first testing session to the feedback meeting, where the psychologist walks you through the findings and the written report.
Can my school or employer use the report?
Yes. The report is written so it can support accommodation requests, and the psychologist can include specific recommendations when you tell us what the report is for.
