Ariana Freshour, LPC | Therapist for Teens & Adults in Austin | Just Mind

(She/Her)  |

Counselor:

Adults, Parents, Teens, Tweens

Ariana works with adults and teens and is driven by the belief that no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone. She is passionate about creating a space where individuals feel truly seen, heard, and understood—without judgment. Her mission is to help clients find relief from anxiety, stress, and life transitions while building confidence in their own strength and resilience.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor, Ariana takes an integrative approach, tailoring therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. She blends cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns, solution-focused therapy to encourage practical steps toward change, and client-centered therapy to create a supportive space where individuals feel valued and heard. By weaving these approaches together, she helps clients gain insight, develop coping strategies, and build confidence in navigating life’s challenges.

Above all, she believes therapy is a collaborative journey. Through practical tools and compassionate guidance, she helps clients set healthy boundaries, cultivate positive habits, and develop self-compassion. Her goal is not just to help individuals recognize their strengths but to empower them to trust in their ability to move forward with clarity and resilience.

Why Therapy?

What I love most about being a therapist is the opportunity to walk alongside my clients through their unique journeys. It’s deeply rewarding to be present with them through both the challenges and the victories, watching them gain clarity, resilience, and confidence. The trust they place in me and the progress they make, no matter how small, is what keeps me inspired every day.

Professional Motivation

I worked as a teacher and felt limited in how much I could support my students beyond academics. I wanted to help them with their emotional and personal challenges as well. I also believe that the cultures and societies we grow up in influence how we manage our emotions. This led me to become a therapist, where I can provide more meaningful support and create a space for people to explore and express their feelings.

Education

M.A. in Professional Counseling from Texas State University, B.A. from St. Edwards University

Hobbies

I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it’s gardening or walking, both of which allow me to connect with nature and stay active. Baking is another hobby I love, especially when I can share my creations with others. I’m also an avid reader, constantly exploring new topics, and I take joy in learning new things that keep me curious.

Previous Occupations

In the past, I have worked as a therapist, school counselor, and teacher. I’ve also held roles as a coordinator and operations director, gaining experience in managing programs, providing support, and overseeing various administrative tasks.
