Kellie enjoys working collaboratively with individuals as a compassionate, empathetic, and open-minded therapist. She works with clients to overcome a variety of setbacks and challenges, and helps them recognize how to advocate for themselves. Kellie’s welcoming attitude and passion for helping others allow her to assist clients in building on their best qualities, finding and growing their strengths, and improving their resilience. Although her approach is influenced by client-centered, strengths-based, and relational theories, she aims to meet her clients where they are and work together to move toward the client’s goal(s). Kellie is EMDR-trained and uses this approach to support clients working through past trauma and/or to explore and reframe client’s negative thoughts about themselves. Her focuses include life transitions, self-exploration and finding purpose, mindfulness, stress management, grief and lossanxiety, and depression.

Why Therapy?

I want to help individuals at a deeper level to be advocates for themselves. I also want to empower clients to recognize all they are capable of doing with what they already have, as well as lean into curiosity and reframe their experiences.

Undergraduate: Secondary Mathematics Education from University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, Graduate: Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs from University of Texas – Austin.

Hobbies

Playing soccer, walking my dog, attending concerts, working on puzzles or playing games with my family, watching sports, knitting or crocheting, and reading.
