Why Therapy?

Psychology has been my passion since I first took a class in it during high school. I am drawn to the study and understanding of human behavior. Once I learned about the training that a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) goes through, I knew it was the path I wanted to take. Everyone faces adversity. Being a therapist allows me to help others understand their behaviors, thoughts, and emotions to guide themselves through difficult times while gaining resilience from their struggles. I believe that clients are experts on their lives, and through self-empowerment they can continue to develop the health, contentment, and fulfillment they deserve.

Professional Motivation

Making connections with others and helping them gain insight and tap into their personal strengths.

Education

BA from Texas State with a major in Speech Communication and minor in Psychology. I have MA in Community Counseling.

Hobbies

I love being with friends and family, finding new music to love and reading.

Previous Occupations

I began my counseling career working inpatient in a psychiatric hospital. I then moved to intensive outpatient counseling of adolescents and their parents. After that I moved into a role in which I developed intensive outpatient programming for young adults, aged 18-24. Since then, I have been working at treatment facilities working with those struggling with addiction and mental illness.
