Julie has nearly 20 years of experience working with individuals, families, and groups at outpatient, residential, and inpatient levels of care. Her clinical experience has been in helping individuals with a wide range of issues, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance-use disorders, trauma, eating disorders, self-harm behaviors, self-esteem, food and body image issues, relationship struggles, and more.
Julie utilizes a trauma-informed, integrative approach, and she enjoys providing insight-based therapies coupled with skills-building, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and assertiveness training. Julie has a strong emphasis on educating her clients on neurobiology as well as the concept and application of self-compassion. She believes that the use of self-compassion is vital for clients in their therapeutic work. She values each client as an individual and encourages them to tap into their personal strengths and provide themselves with kindness as they work toward strengthening their emotional health.
