Gabi Ghag, LPC-Associate | Grief & Trauma Counselor in Austin | Just Mind
(She/Her) |
Counselor:
Adults, Teens
With a warm and compassionate presence, Gabi creates an inclusive and non-judgmental space that is affirming and emphasizes self-compassion. She cultivates a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients rooted in authenticity, mutual empathy, and empowerment. Recognizing that therapy is not a “one size fits all” experience, Gabi adapts her approach to fit each client’s personal needs. Her clinical work is informed by Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), parts work (Internal Family Systems – IFS), interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, narrative therapy, and somatic work. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy) to reduce the emotional impact of traumatic events.
In addition to working with trauma, Gabi supports adults and teens facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity exploration, and life transitions. She is also passionate about supporting clients navigating intercultural/interfaith relationships, grief and loss, family-of-origin wounds, and cultural and immigration concerns.
Gabi is dedicated to providing care that is trauma-informed and anti-oppressive, and she works to connect with and understand her clients from a place of cultural humility that honors their unique selves. She works to embolden her clients to unashamedly explore the parts of themselves that may be impeding their growth and healing, and guides them to tap into their innate resiliency.
Gabi is supervised by Kimberley Mead, LPC-S.
