Since Austin remains a Stage 5, we have very limited in-person counseling options and this is the case with the majority of counseling practices at the moment. If you are looking for support, we highly suggest starting with online counseling at our practice and as CDC and City of Austin guidance change, therapists should have more in-person options available and will discuss this with current clients. For those who are entering our private practice offices, masking is encouraged.
We are adding 4 additional therapists over the September through November time frame to try and increase capacity for children, teens, adults, and couples.
When we return to in person it might comfort you to know that all of our in-person counselors have been fully vaccinated. If you have been fully vaccinated, you are invited to choose in person or telehealth. If you are not fully vaccinated, we respectfully request that you choose telehealth at this time. We hope to have more options in the near future. We are following the current guidelines of the CDC and will make adjustments as they advise. If you are a current client, talk to your therapist to better understand the options they have available.
We also offer online support which has proven very effective. These sessions can be done on pretty much any smartphone, tablet, or computer and are done via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform – Google Meet. You will need a Google Account (Gmail, etc) to participate in our online counseling system. Google uses this to authenticate that you are the correct person participating in the call and guaranteeing end-to-end encryption. We have had incredible success utilizing online counseling and making progress with all mental health concerns. If you have questions about online counseling, please let our scheduling team know, and we will be glad to answer them.
