William is a professional counselor with 20+ years of experience. He works with creatives, techies, and people who feel like life is out of alignment, and specializes in high functioning AutismADHD, and OCD. He particularly enjoys helping people to develop new chapters in their lives after relationships end, and helping people understand anxiety. He thinks of what he does as helping clients deepen their emotional intelligence.

William’s style is warm, humanistic, and solution-focused in his approach to helping people overcome obstacles. He has completed Level Two of Gottman training, basic training of Interpersonal Neurobiology (accessing neural networks), advanced training in ADHD (James Ochoa), EMDR trained (supervised by Rick Levinson), mindfulness, Autism (Tony Attwood), and is completing his ADHD-CCSP. He is the founder of Just Mind and the Austin Mental Health Group, which has more than 2,500 therapists as members.

Why Therapy?

I was always the person that others turned to when they were upset from elementary school through college. It was always a natural role for me in life and I never questioned it. I also had a therapist who was critical in my own insight and growth while navigating some challenges in life.

Professional Motivation

Assisting people to create lasting change in their lives. Helping them gain insight, see their potential, and creating strategies to start achieving it.

Education

I went to Loyola University in New Orleans and graduated with a bachelors in Marketing. I got my masters at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and finished with a Masters in Community Counseling. I also attended Stanford University for classes on startups.

Hobbies

Traveling, reading, music, time outside, hiking, running, working out, art, movies, techie stuff, love of food, credit card points, and the New Orleans Saints.
