Why Therapy?

I’ve always been curious about why people think and behave the way they do. That curiosity was first itched in 9th grade when I took my first psychology class. I remember being fascinated that our thoughts and experiences shape so much of how we see the world. As I continued studying psychology, I explored areas like research and medical applications, but I realized what I found most meaningful was the opportunity to work directly with people. The idea that you can sit with someone, help them understand themselves better, and support them through difficult moments really resonated with me. That realization led me to pursue a Clinical Psychology program and focus on therapy. What keeps me motivated is knowing that even small conversations can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

Professional Motivation

What I love most about being a therapist is learning from the diverse cultures and life experiences my clients bring. Every person has a unique story, and it’s a privilege to be trusted with that. I value being able to combine that understanding with evidence-based tools to help people work through challenges and create meaningful change in their lives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from Emory University; Doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University

Hobbies

In my free time, I enjoy going for walks, exploring new cities, and trying great food, as well as cooking and baking at home. My favorite way to unwind is relaxing on the couch and snuggling with my dog, Balú. I also love spending time in the garden, which helps me slow down and reconnect with nature.

Previous Occupations

I have worn many hats! I have been a camp counselor, a waitress, and used to spend time volunteering at dog shelters and botanical gardens.
