Ana Sofia Guerra, LPC Associate
(She/Her) |
Counselor:
Adults, Children, Teens, Tweens
Ana Sofia believes therapy works best when clients feel seen, heard, and free to be their authentic selves. Her style is warm and direct, and she values honesty, curiosity, and laughter in the therapy room. She approaches therapy with the belief that meaningful change comes through genuine connection, creating a space where clients feel safe to explore themselves without judgment.
In her work with children and adolescents, Ana Sofia uses a child-centered play therapy approach that allows young clients to express and process their experiences through play, creativity, and imagination. Through expressive arts and developmentally appropriate techniques, she helps children and teens explore emotions, strengthen self-expression, and build confidence in themselves and their relationships. She also values collaborating with caregivers to support young clients both inside and outside of the therapy room.
With adults and young adults, Ana Sofia focuses on anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. Her integrative approach is grounded in a person-centered foundation and informed by psychodynamic, attachment-based, and REBT perspectives. She is particularly interested in helping clients see how past experiences and relationships influence current patterns, beliefs, and emotions.
Growing up in Mexico and immigrating to the United States at age 10, Ana Sofia understands firsthand how culture, identity, and life transitions shape the way people experience the world. These experiences inform her commitment to culturally responsive care where clients from diverse backgrounds feel seen and understood.
Ana Sofia is supervised by Rosalie Piedra, LPC-S, RPT-S.
