(She/Her) |
Counselor:
Children, Families, Parents, Teens, Tweens
Melody is a social worker with 12 years of experience working with children, tweens, and teens. Melody has worked in public schools providing counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional learning at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Tailored to meet the developmental needs and personal preferences of her clients, she uses a variety of play therapy and traditional talk therapy methods including artistic expression, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, therapeutic games, and storytelling. Because of the diversity found in public schools, she is experienced in working with clients addressing many issues, including anxiety, grief, social difficulties, transitions, family communication, and emotional development.
Melody takes care to develop a sense of trust and understanding with her clients, creating a supportive and safe therapeutic environment for clients to explore their emotions and experiences. Melody believes that all children deserve to be heard, understood, and supported as they are learning how to interact with the world and the people around them. She loves being able to help people identify and build upon their innate strengths and skills.
Melody is supervised by Lauren Gaspar, LCSW-S, RPT-S.
