On the go? Listen to our blog instead of reading it.
Do you ever wonder how to crush your ADD? In this day and age, multitasking has been the buzz word. You see it everywhere as people are answering emails and text while driving or in meetings. Your kids may do homework while talking with friends on Skype and listening to music. In Austin we have South by Southwest coming up and the streets are always filled with people not looking where they are going while they are talking with someone and glued to their iPhones. Most research indicates that this isn’t good for anyone and that single tasking is the way to go. The Pomodoro Technique gets you to practice just that. The idea is that it gets you to practice focusing on one thing for a set period of time and then you take a break. I am actually practicing this technique right now as I only have 25 minutes and my goal is to only focus on tasks supporting my blog posts. As the timer audibly ticks away in the background, it reminds me of my single task. Below is a video that describes the video in more depth. There are also some apps that can help you with this process but you can even use a simple kitchen timer. The idea is for you to hear the ticking as you work on your task. Well, my 25 minutes are almost up and I hope you enjoy the video below!
