Greg’s love of people has always driven his work. His career as a counselor began in 2000, and he has worked with adults and couples in private practice and in higher education. Greg uses a number of different approaches with clients who have interest in deepening their understanding of self and their relationships, and increasing meaning in life. He has a deep interest in working with people living with chronic illness as well as those seeking counseling for depression and anxiety. Though his orientation is Existential Humanism, he employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, and he has completed Level Two of Gottman Method training for couples therapy.

  • How long have you been doing counseling?

    Since 1997, with a 9-year break.

  • What do you love most about what you do?

    I love people and they fascinate me. Seeing anyone become empowered is thrilling to me.

  • What previous jobs have you held?

    Director of Student Support Services- Del Mar College, Counselor/Advisor – Del Mar College, Housekeeper at a hotel and Machinist- two jobs I had during summer vacation as an undergrad.

  • What made you decide to become a therapist?

    I had a particularly brilliant psychology teacher in high school. The way she presented the material really made it come alive.

  • Hobbies

    Music- I’m a percussionist, Reading, Thrifting

  • Where do you want to travel?

    Kilkenny, Ireland. That is where my paternal grandmother was from and she died before I could meet her.
