Marian enjoys working with individual adults and couples and focuses on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, life changes, sexuality, and relationship difficulties. She works from a strengths-based approach, using a mixture of counseling theories to fit the needs of each particular client, including mindfulness, somatic experiencing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic approaches.
She has completed Level One of Gottman training for couples counseling and has advanced training in Somatic Experiencing® and Emotionally Focused Therapy. She has also completed her externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an evidence-based therapy for couples. She is sex-positive and strives to create a non-judgmental environment for clients of all orientations and lifestyles.
